To Join Together Once More

The rain drops seemed colder than he remembered
That wayfarer who wandered through thickets and brush
Some days late now as it was no longer November
Tightly gripping his staff and hurriedly beginning to rush.
An agreed upon place to join together once more
Somewhere the meddlesome masses could not translate
Trudging along the landscape, becoming increasingly sore
His ultimate destination hidden beyond the mossy gate.
A chance encounter bringing him where he is now
Rehearsing those words, ceasing to rest his weary limbs
One beloved to another, in the end would speak that vow
And forever come together singing old forgotten hymns.
Worry that she may not wait, refused to burrow in his mind
For the rocky path he chose, decidedly would be his last one
So leaving one life and those troubles far behind
Til at last they both would join, walking towards that rosy sun.
